Uluwatu Temple

Uluwatu temple is located in Pecatu village, South Kuta district, Badung regency, Bali. It's around 29 km from Denpasar. Built by Mpu Kuturan. He is a Buddhist priest from East Java and was a King in a place called Girah. This temple is a place to pray for Lord Rudra. A Lord that can heal all kind of illness and also believed can destroy everything in this world when it goes wrong. Uluwatu is known as Segara temple or sea temple. Uluwatu is also one of Sad Kahyangan temple in Bali (one of the six pillars temple of Balinese spiritual life).

Uluwatu Temple is a really magnificent temple with beautiful things that surround this temple. This temple is located beside a cliff  and also bordered by the Indian Ocean. You can see the glint blue ocean clearly from the temple. Not only that, this temple also has a lot of big trees and big old frangipani flower plants. The air is refreshing. The environment in this temple is also clean. For me this temple just perfect!

After we entered this temple, I and my mom put an offering on a place (we called it pelinggih) which is located besides the security post. Then, we entered the temple for praying. In this temple, there are a lot of tourists. But, as a local or whoever who want to pray in this temple, we don't have to worry because tourists can not enter to the temple. So we can pray quietly.

Some of my friends told me to be careful with the monkeys in this temple. You have to take care all of your stuff like bag, smartphone, camera, sun glasses, earing, hat, and everything that can be reached easily by the monkeys. So I taken off my earings and my necklace. But, when I just entered this temple, I did not see any monkey! I arrived around 4 PM. So, I think the monkeys were sleeping and having a sweet dream at that time :D. I was so lucky!  We were so lucky can see this beautiful temple without any cheeky monkey :D
