Batukaru Temple is the one of Sad Kahyangan temple in Bali as what mentioned in Kusuma Dewa lontar. This temple is a place to pray to the God of Mahadewa or Ratu Hyang Tumuwuh. This God is believed as a guardian for plants and help them to grow well. This temple is located on the slopes of the mountain Batukaru (the second highest mountain in Bali), in Wongaya village, Penebel district, Tabanan Regency, Bali. It's around 43 Km from Denpasar.

Before you go to pray to the main temple, you have to pray in Beji temple. This temple is located on the left side of the temple, near the big pond. This temple also has a holy spring water outside. I also saw some butterflies around this temple. Before we enter the Beji Temple, we washed our face, hands, and our feets. Then, we prayed to the God in this temple.

Next, After the Beji temple, we can go the main temple. The main temple is just next to Beji temple. You just need to go upstairs. Also, You don't have to worry because the stairs is not as many as in Lempuyang temple. The main pelinggih in Pura Luhur Batukaru shaped candi and not Meru. This is clearly the architectural influence of East Java and India.

After that, we can pray to the next place in this temple. This temple is only for Pasek clan. To find this temple, You just need to go straight right after the main temple, and turn left then go downstairs. It's right on your left side. After that, we can pray to the last temple. It's called Dalem temple. It's located outside the areal of Batukaru temple, on the right side of the temple. I promise the view will amazed you!
