Cupak Grantang

Today I will tell you a famous really really famous story from Bali. Some singer even made a song about this story! Here the song that I really like about Cupak and Grantang. Haha the song is  really funny if you understand Bali Language. You can check it bellow.

Once upon a time, there lived two brothers named Cupak and Grantang. The older one is Cupak and the younger one is Grantang. Even though they are brothers, both of them are really different. Cupak is fat, greedy and ugly while his brother, Grantang is good looking, kind and a hard working.  A lot of girls in the village had a crush on Grantang. One day, Their parent told them to plowing their field. But, once they were in the field, Cupak left Grantang to do it by himself. Cupak said that he has to go to somewhere just for a moment. But, he back to the field when Grantang already finished plowing the field. Even though Grantang always know that Cupak always cheating on him, he still love his only brother. He left Cupak and said that he need to take a bath in the river near the field. He also said that Cupak can leaves him to go home first. After Grantang left, Cupak threw himself into the mud in the field that Grantang  plowing before. After that Cupak went home.

At home, Cupak Cried so badly while he was telling his parent that Grantang didn't even help him in the field to plowning. He said that Grantang went playing somewhere and back to the field when he finished plowning the field. Their parent so angry to hear that. In the other hand, Grantang went home trembling because he was so tired and hungry, working all day long alone by himself.  Once Grantang arrived at home, his parent so mad at him. His dad even hit him and said "I don't even know that you can do that to your brother. What a shame I have a son that good looking but has a bad manner to your brother. How could you left your brother to do plowing alone?" 

Because he was so tired and his dad even hit him, that makes he didn't even has any energy to explain the truth. He cried because he was hurt so much. The worse was his dad told him to leave. His hearth really hurts to hear what his dad said. so he told his dad that he will leaves them and will always hope for their happiness.  

Now, Grantang already left them. But, Cupak didn't know that his dad told Grantang to leave. When he called Grantang at home, no body answer. He called him again and again. And now his dad answered. " Grantang already left. I told him so he could learn from his mistake." After heard that from his dad, Cupak was really sad and even crying. He ask his dad. "Why did you do that to Grantang, I am one who made mistake. He was the one who plowing the field not me. I didn't even help him. I was playing around that time left all the job to him. I am sorry, now please let Grantang back home dad."
